Amino Acid Composition of Apple Juice
Apple cider is delicious on its own but have you ever wondered how the cider’s amino acid profile is related to the apple species from which it was made? This client’s research was not only fascinating, it was delicious!
Confirming theoretical models of water viscosity
This client’s research was in water-acid solutions for nuclear reactors. They had a theoretical model for the viscosity of the solution as a function of the individual concentrations that needed empirical verification. The client (or rather, the client’s graduate student) had made viscosity measurements (with replicates) at a variety of mixtures.
Analyzing water quality in ponds using linear mixed models
This client arrived with two asks: to verify analysis of data she has already collected and to design an experiment for the next stage in her research. She was interested in the prescence of phosphorus in retention ponds caused by agricultural runoff.
Comparing calf microbiome between different diets
There is a lot of emerging research showing strong relationship between gut microbiome and overall health in humans[1], but what about in cows? For this project we were contacted by a client in the animal and poultry sciences department to help answer the question “is there a difference in the stomach microbiome between calves on an enhanced treatment feed vs calves on the control feed”.
